Correct Sitting Posture

By

Determining the correct sitting posture is pretty easy. Maintaining the correct sitting posture is where things get more difficult. If you understand that you have to “sit up straight” and maintain a chair and workstation that allows your back to be in its ideal position, you’re part of the way there.

Your muscles get tired and they have trouble keeping the right position for extended periods of time. Many people decide to get some type of pillow or back support for their chair, but this only leads to the muscles feeling stronger at first while they slowly get weaker and weaker.

“Use it or lose it,” right? If you’re not using your muscles, they are slowing getting weaker and that will only make having the correct sitting posture that much more difficult.

As uncomfortable as it may sound, posture exercises can be done without much difficulty and without the time and effort it took to get your posture weak in the first place.

You just have do some posture exercise and you’ll notice a difference in how you feel. You’ll feel stronger and you’ll be able to maintain the correct position longer and longer until it’s no trouble at all.

If you don’t maintain good posture during your day, you’re asking for the typical neck and back pain problems associated with this activity. By adding in some posture exercises to your daily routine (even less most of the time), you’ll be able to sit up straight and feel good while you do it.
